Nose Job Without Surgery
Many individuals are concerned about their nose size and shape and feel that it distracts from the rest of their face.
However, some patients are hesitant to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty for various reasons.
Fortunately, plastic surgeons are now able to offer patients a way to correct their nasal concerns with a non-surgical nose job.
What Is a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
A non-surgical rhinoplasty is an in-office procedure where a dermal filler, such as Juvederm or Restylane, is injected to improve the contours of the nose.
This procedure can straighten the bridge of the nose, reshape the tip, or refine the nostrils.
How the Procedure Is Performed
A non-surgical rhinoplasty should be performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. A topical numbing cream is applied to the nose and then the physician injects the areas to be corrected.
The procedure takes approximately 10-20 minutes and is relatively painless. Additionally, there is no downtime after the procedure, and patients can resume normal activities the same day.
Reasons to Elect a Non-Surgical Nose Job
Many patients elect this procedure because they do not want the downtime of surgery or risks of general anesthesia.
Additionally, a patient may not be certain about making a permanent change to his/her face, and a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a good option for a trial basis.
For some, a non-surgical rhinoplasty may be their first nasal procedure, while for others, it can be a revision treatment after 1 or more surgical nose jobs.
What to Expect After the Procedure
The results from a non-surgical rhinoplasty can been seen immediately after the procedure. There may be some minor swelling, redness, and tenderness to the injected areas that quickly resolve.
Results last from six to 18 months, at which time, patients will require a follow-up treatment.
Our practice offers both surgical and non-surgical options for rhinoplasty. Please call Washingtonian Plastic Surgery today to learn more and schedule a consultation.
