FRACTIONAL LASER – PALOMAR ICON 1540
Palomar Icon 1540, a non-ablative erbium laser that is part of the Palomar Icon Aesthetic System. This laser delivers light to the skin through an array of high-precision microbeams that penetrate the skin deep into the dermis. This creates narrow, deep columns of skin coagulation, surrounded by healthy, untreated skin. This causes the skin to repair itself by replacing old, sun-damaged skin with new, younger, healthier skin. Since the Icon 1540 delivers fractionated light, the treatments are safer and produce consistent results.
Here are some of the top things treated with the Palomar Icon 1540 laser:
- Acne Scarring
- Surgical or Traumatic Scars
- Skin Resurfacing
- Stretch Marks
- Melasma
HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK?
The laser delivers heat to deep layers of the skin where collagen and elastin production is stimulated. When new collagen and elastin is produced you’ll notice an improved skin tone and texture. It also helps to add more volume to the face.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
Typically we will suggest 3 to 5 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart. For certain conditions like acne scarring, there may be more treatments needed.
WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED POST-TREATMENT?
After the treatment and up to 24 hours after, the skin can feel slightly sunburned and sensitive. The skin may appear slightly darker for the following days, which you can correct with makeup if desired.
HOW SOON WILL RESULTS APPEAR?
Many patients see results within a few days. The real results usually start around the 2-3 month mark after your treatment.
