At the Hands of a Doctor…
Who is holding your face?
Would you go to a baseball game to watch football players take a swing? Sounds fun in theory, but it might not be their core competency.
In the Medical profession, there is a fine line (no pun intended) between knowing your surgeon and knowing what kind of results to expect. One thing is for certain…I want a surgeon doing my surgery who knows his or her field of expertise.
Who is the best? Trending medical spas and day spas have expanded their use of dermal fillers and injectables to offer convenience to their clientele. But at what cost to you? Potentially, a surgical tech or nurse will inject the patients (and the “medical director” who may be an internal medicine doctor is not even on the premises usually). Yet I don’t believe in handing over the keys to those not professionally trained to drive!
We believe in patient centered care. That is why no matter how busy and rushed life gets, we stop to take the time to do things right. Feeling safe in doctors’ hands is important and also why I will be the only one injecting my patients in my office.
In my eyes, every patient is family and deserves the safety, results and experience I have gained over the last 15 years of surgery. (For full disclosure, I professionally train other medical doctors using fillers and injectables with Allergan.)
